Pat Cochrane is currently chair of the Board of Trustees of the Calgary Board of Education.
Trustee Cochrane was elected in 1999 and has overseen the adoption of Policy Governance and the later shift to Coherent Governance.
Trustee Cochrane was also involved in the sale of land and leaseback, renovation and construction that produced the new Education Centre. The 30 year cost of that project is estimated to top $285 million.
During her time as trustee, Pat Cochrane saw the board move from deficit to surplus and back to deficit in 2011. Deficits are projected to continue through 2012 and 2013 ($85 million).
Trustee Cochrane participated in hiring Chief Superintendent Naomi Johnson.
